01 / The guy behind the records

I spend a slightly unreasonable amount of time digging through the current jazz scene and whatever gets me. Then I take it to Instagram and gently insist that people give it a listen. Occasionally this also happens through DJ sets and overly curated listening sessions.

The hi-fi setup is part of pretty much every video. It’s what I listen on every day, and it’s gradually taken over a fair bit of the room. I love how it sounds. I also spend a suspicious amount of time looking at it.

Moving into the setup

I’m not a hi-fi reviewer. I just like giving my records a decent place to be heard. I’d love to find audio partners I can stick with for years. We could make videos about getting to know a component, what it changes in my listening and the records I keep going back to because of it. If it feels right in the setup, it stays part of the music and the videos. I get attached to these things.

Something to dig into

A new album, a vinyl release, an artist or a label with a story I’d love to tell. This could turn into a video, a DJ set or an overly curated listening session. Depends on the music. I’ll probably get carried away.

Something I haven’t thought of yet

A shirt? A lamp? A clever little device? A record brush that becomes an unexpected personality trait? I haven’t got a sensible list. If you make something and can picture it in my slightly music-dominated life, send it over. The idea, I mean. Let’s talk before shipping furniture.
